Philosophy of Ministry

The vision of Community Bible Church is to develop mature believers in Christ, who become involved in shared ministry, (Ephesians 4:11-13)

Shared Ministry

The leadership of the church is placed in the hands of a Pastor, Elders and Deacons. Yet, the ministry is placed in the hands of everyone in the fellowship. The Apostle Paul had over 70 people who were sharing his ministry! It is imperative that everyone understand that this ministry is God’s and He has given this ministry to all of us to share!

This church seeks to practice a Biblically based model of “shared ministry”.

  • Paul shared the ministry with other believers
  • Paul taught that leaders should be prepared to minister to the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-18
  • The Picture of the “Body of Christ” is vital for an understanding of the function of ministry in the NT Church
  • The Leadership of the NT church was entrusted to faithful men, 2 Timothy 2:2
  • The NT is filled with “dependent leaders”, dependent upon one another, Acts 9:10-18. And, the Holy Spirit, Ephesians 5:18
  • Every believer is gifted by the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 12-14; Ephesians 4 and Romans 12) to serve the Lord in the Body of Christ
  • We have one head of the Church, The Lord Jesus Christ, Ephesian 5:23
